This was an interesting experience, not bad, just interesting. I was asked to get an inspection from the Dallas County Auto Theft Department for an out-of-state vehicle we were bringing into Texas, but I was directed to this location, HBL Towing. Luckily, I got great instructions from Liz who setup the appointment. She told me to stay in my vehicle when I arrived. There were Sheriff's officers there who directed me into the inpound lot. I was a little cautious so let me explain the process, the portion that was not explained to me. - When you arrive a Sheriff's Officer will approach you - They will ask for your reason to be there - They will direct you to the inpound lot - The officer(s) will ask you to leave the keys in the ignition and to leave the vehicle - They will ask you to walk back to the front and hangout. This part was not clear to me. He said "If I wanted to, I can go into the purple door." I actually needed to into the purple door, that is the waiting room where you will be called. - Someone (Liz in my case) calls your vehicle make and model from the small window, then you get approach the window to pay your $40. You will be asked to ensure the VIN matches what they located in the 68A form It's an easy process but it was just not clear. Then ending up at a Towing location for a Sheriff's department Auto Theft inspection made it even more suspicious to me. But at the end, it was a quick process and Liz and her team, the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force Dallas County Sheriff’s Department were great 👍👍 Take note, there is no public restroom here 😊
